Here's our new swingset for the kids. They're SO happy... and so am I. I can see it from the kitchen window!

Whose filthy child is this?

Serayah's been going to camp this week. It's a full on summer camp, full of canoeing, swimming, hiking, a tree house, you name it. Every day I send off a relatively well groomed little girl, and every day I get a little dirt monster in her place. She's been having SO MUCH FUN!!!!!

Waterfall Hike

We ordered some hiking books for Oregon and Washington, and they came the other day. After flipping through the book, we found a hike that ended in some waterfalls that weren't too far away, so we packed up the kids and Finnegan the wonderdog and took off. It's a good thing we had the book (and that it gave such detailed directions). The turnoffs to the falls weren't marked at all... There must be so many people who don't realize that they're so close to such beauty!

The hike to the falls is about a mile, and we were the only ones there, so we let Finn off his leash for the trek. He was so funny! He would race up to the front (where Cam was) then back to me in the rear... back and forth, back and forth... he must have gone 4 miles to our 2. The walk was so beautiful and green... This is the Oregon I love. I'm kind of overloading tree/forest photos, but that's for my Utah friends so they can see what I kept going on about.

After the hike, we headed for the beach (it was only 40 minutes away from the falls). We love Pacific City... It too was miraculously uncrowded, so Finn was free to run. He's really great about coming when I call, but he goes a bit spastic when he sees new people or dogs... He's only 5 months, so I've still got hope.

Anyway, I know I haven't posted anything in forever, but I haven't really taken any pictures in a while.

New glasses

Here's a quick shot of Serayah's new glasses... you can't really tell from the picture, but the inside is a bright teal... very cute! She took one look in the mirror at the Dr's office, and said "Mom... I look goooood!". Who am I to argue? :)

Cam is finally caged!

I'm pretty sure Cam likes Finnegan's new crate more than the puppy does... .

Here are a few random shots from this afternoon. It has been rainy and drizzling the last couple of days, but we had a nice sunbreak so I sent the kids (and puppy) out to play... I should have been cleaning up the kitchen, but my camera and a few laughs pulled me away (and here I am posting this instead of cleaning too. Oh well!).

Meet Finnegan!

Finnegan came to our family today... it was love at first sight. He's a goldendoodle (Standard Poodle mom, Golden Retriever dad). The kids are loving him, and he's the sweetest (and dare I saw most mellow?) puppy I've ever encountered. Many, many more pictures (and hyjinx) to follow!

OK... so I had to spike up his hair to get the full effect. It just makes me giggle... at least if you've got to wear glasses, you try and pull it off with style!

Glasses, take 3

So we found out a week or so ago that Cam got my lucky genes, and is farsighted. We were able to pick up his glasses today (which are AWESOME, 'cause they're Spiderman glasses). He seems to be pretty OK with them, I guess time will tell... anyway, here's a picture.

Stylin'

Here are a couple random pictures. I cut Cam's hair yesterday, and he wanted me to put "hair stuff" in it today. I did, and loved it (but I'm kinda crazy like that). Here's a picture of the results... It was so funny... after I was done, he looked in the mirror, and gave himself a thumbs-up and said "I'm stylin'!".

The tooth fairy is a comin'!

Serayah lost her first tooth today. It's hard to believe she's old enough to be losing teeth, but apparently (despite our attempts to freeze her at age 4), she's decided to grow up on us. Sniffle.

Never has there ever been any child more excited about a loose tooth. She discovered it yesterday (and it was seriously loose), and proceeded to tell everyone she saw... which would include the entire shopping population of Costco... about her magnificent discovery.

She kept playing with it, and I kept giving it little testing tugs for her. Finally tonight it popped right out. After bouncing around the house, now it's bedtime, so let the tooth fairy come!

The other pic is just a random one of the kids sleeping. You can't really tell, but they're laying EXACTLY in the same positions... both arms are at the same angles, and their feet were splayed out identically as well. It was really cute. Cam sleeps in Serayah's trundle bed every night. That's the way they both want it, so who are we to argue?
